The two other Chelsea wonderkids ready to head to Strasbourg on loan

Nizaar Kinsella’s piece, published just now, confirms Fabrizio Romano’s news from earlier that Chelsea are on the verge of signing Deivid Washington.

However, while Romano hinted that Washington might stay at Chelsea this season, Kinsella confidently states he will be joining his former and present teammate Angelo Gabriel in heading to Strasbourg on loan.

The pair will play for Chelsea’s affiliate club for the season, and could yet be joined by a third from Stamford Bridge. Kinsella says that’s likely to be Lesley Ugochukwu, who also signed this summer.

The fact that Gabriel and Washington are the same age and have come through at Santos together should really help out their adaptation as they acclimatise to the European game and lifestyle for the first time. We assume that’s been part of the logic in buying them at the same time and loan them to the same place.

All three of these young Blues will go and try to help Patrick Vieira start the revolution in Alsace.
