Ottawa Senators 2016-17 Season Preview

Two seasons ago, the Ottawa Senators finished off the latter half of their season in impressive fashion. They went on what was known as “The Miracle Run,” where backup goaltender Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond went on a serious hot streak and helped the team win 21 of their last 27 games of the season. After a bumpy start, management had fired former head coach Paul MacLean...

2016-17 Season Preview: Ottawa Senators

As a Sabres fan, I thoroughly enjoy the dysfunction of the Ottawa Senators. When I look at them from a neutral point of view, they're incredibly frustrating. The Senators have arguably the best player in the NHL in Erik Karlsson in his prime and have done a horrible job filling out the rest of their roster. They have made brief playoff appearances in recent years but last year...

Senators disappointed in former first-round pick’s development camp

Development camp can be a make or break time for some young prospects. Generally if you are a first-round pick you shouldn’t have too much to worry about. If you are Thomas Chabot, the Senators' 2015 first-round pick, you apparently have plenty to worry about. Assistant General Manager of the Ottawa Senators Randy Lee had plenty to say to the Ottawa Sun about Chabot’s performance...

Trade deadline outlook: Ottawa Senators

Buyers or Sellers? Either. Ottawa has a plethora of talented young players, so it doesn't need to trade assets in order to build for the future. But this also is not quite a playoff team, and after acquiring a big contract in Dion Phaneuf, the Senators might want to clear up some cap space at the deadline. Team needs Defense. The Senators are the worst team in the NHL in shots...

Thanks to a sign and a Bobby Ryan goal, this kid is getting a puppy! During the Ottawa Senators’ 3-0 win over the New York Rangers, Ryan scored with 20 seconds left in the second period.
