‘Situation Could Change’: Fabrizio Romano Reveals Arsenal Could Be Persuaded to Sell £50M Star in January

Aaron Ramsdale faces an uncertain future at Arsenal after being displaced from his starting role in goal by Brentford loanee David Raya. Consequently, the goalkeeper is also in danger of losing his spot with the national team due to lack of game time.  James Pearce of the Athletic reports that the English shot-stopper may be sold by the Gunners in January if they receive a substantial offer for him.

Aaron Ramsdale Faces Potential January Exit From North London

Big Offer Would Tempt the Gunners

As per Pearce, Mikel Arteta might consider parting ways with Ramsdale if the club were to receive a sizeable offer for him. Arteta has all but established Raya as the first-choice option at the club by starting the Spaniard over the Englishman in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League games, and this could force Ramsdale to look elsewhere for game time.

As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the London-based club are also planning to make Raya’s loan deal a permanent move in the summer. This would mean that Ramsdale has little to no chance of regaining the spot he lost earlier this season.

Situation Is Quiet at the Moment

Romano reports that at the moment, there is no development in this transfer saga. He adds that there are no big proposals for the 25-year-old at the moment and that the situation is quiet. However, this should not rule out a potential move in the January transfer window. He goes on to emphasize that for a non-starter like Aaron Ramsdale, a big offer would tempt the Gunners to sell him this month.

At the moment, the North Londoners have placed a £50 million valuation on the player.

Ramsdale signed with Arsenal in the summer of 2021 and he immediately displaced then-keeper Bernd Leno from his starting spot. Since then, he has been a key figure in the club’s rise under Arteta. The Raya-Ramsdale saga has divided opinion among fans and pundits alike, and we could be seeing another chapter of this story written later this month.
