Newcastle youngster Elliot Anderson is set to play for England instead of Scotland.

The 20-year-old was given a call-up for recent international games by Scotland, but pulled out due to injury.

Now it appears he may have done so for other motives, as the Scottish Daily Express states he is ready to jump ship.

Anderson didn't enjoy" his time with the Scotland team and felt he was being rushed into a decision.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke wants him to play with the senior team, but England coach Gareth Sotuhgate may get him instead.

Whether Anderson is good enough to consistently get into the England team is another matter.
