Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has no doubts about the future of Lewis Miley.

The teen became the club's youngest player to appear in Europe in this week's Champions League defeat at Borussia Dortmund.

Howe said, "He is certainly going to have a prominent role on our future generally. You can see against Dortmund the way he came into the game for someone so young it was hugely impressive.

"At that moment we were trying to chase the game. He used the ball well and looked good physically after his illness, I was really pleased with him."

Howe also said today: "The players have done incredibly well especially after such a difficult start which we knew it would be when we looked at the fixtures. We were close in those games but didn't get the results we wanted.

"It has been another intense period were the players have been stretched physically and mentally so I have to complement them again in our performance. We lost the two games to Dortmund but they weren't one-sided games."
