Tottenham Hotspur have been informed that Davinson Sanchez is looking for a new club to join in the summer transfer window, as per Fabrizio Romano. The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at the club and received little game-time last season.

Davinson Sanchez Set to Leave Tottenham

Sanchez Looking for New Experience Beyond Tottenham

The Colombian centre-back, reportedly on 67k-per-week, only started nine times in the Premier League in the previous campaign for Spurs, in which they only kept two clean sheets against Wolves and Nottingham Forest. He made 24 appearances in all competitions and received criticism from fans for his error-prone performances.

Romano adds that Sanchez has informed the North London club that he is now looking for a “new experience” in his career and wants to join a club that guarantees him more playing time. It’s also stated that the defender’s agent as well as the club themselves are currently working hard to find a new team for him to join.

For the time being, it doesn’t appear that the defender will get to play under new manager Ange Postecoglou – who is also reportedly looking to sign a new centre-back amid links to Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.

Sanchez Failed to Impress at Tottenham

Sanchez arrived at the London side with a lot of hype around him, with the club paying over £40 million to sign him from Ajax back in 2017. However, he never really got going at the club or found the kind of consistency that is needed to thrive in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has exhibited inconsistencies and has shown a tendency to make errors that have proven costly and forced the Lilywhites to sign defenders Cristian Romero and Clement Lenglet in recent years. The Colombian defender reached a low point towards the end of the 2022/23 campaign, as he was booed off by Tottenham supporters in his side’s 3-2 loss to Bournemouth in April. The centre-back has made 205 appearances for Spurs in his career, but it now looks like he’s ready to start a new chapter with a new club.
