Roma have announced that Evan Ndicka has been given a clean bill of health and is allowed to resume playing after his scary on-pitch collapse earlier this month.

The 24-year-old Ivorian centre back was at the centre of distressing scenes on April 14th, when he collapsed off the ball in the second half of the Giallorossi’s Serie A clash with Udinese. He was immediately rushed to hospital and the match was abandoned.

Initial tests suggested that Ndicka didn’t suffer a heart attack and further examinations confirmed that he’d avoided any cardiac issues, instead suffering from a collapsed left lung. He was released from hospital the following day.

Ndicka cleared

As announced by Roma, Ndicka has been given a clean bill of health following a round of cardiological and pulmonary tests at the Villa Stuart medical clinic, and as such is eligible to resume sporting activity.

The 24-year-old will return to training in the coming days and could be part of the match squad for the coming clash with Napoli on April 28th.
