Napoli ask Galatasaray for Davinson Sanchez

According to reports in Italy, Napoli have asked Galatasaray for former Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez.

The Partenopei are trying to strengthen their back line following a serious injury to Brazilian Natan, who dislocated his clavicle in an awkward fall.

He is expected to be out of action for at least two months, while Leo Ostigard is on the market, so Napoli are looking around for replacements.

Calciomercato.it claim that their latest target on the January transfer market is Davinson Sanchez, who only made the move in September 2023 from Tottenham hotspur for €9.5m.

Although the Colombia international has made 12 appearances for the club, contributing one goal and two assists, he is said to be eager for a new experience already.

It is early days and these are the first initial talks between the two clubs and the player’s agent, but the 27-year-old is an option for the reigning Champions of Italy and a deal could be done for €8m.

The main problem is his salary, which is worth €3m per season and no longer has the Growth Decree to get a discount for Napoli.
