It could be a busy summer mercato for AC Milan with several positions to reinforce, perhaps above all the No.9 role. However, as a report claims, the defence is also a priority amid the expected departure of Simon Kjaer.

Kjaer’s contract will expire in the summer and Milan are not expected to renew it, keen on rejuvenating the department. Several targets have been followed in the last few months and one of the most concrete options is Maxence Lacroix, as per Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com.

Milan, mainly Geoffrey Moncada and the scouring department, have been following the 23-year-old live several times in the last few months. The impressions were very positive every time, above all impressed by his technical ability and leadership at such a young age.

At 190cm tall, he’s hard to beat in the aerial duels and Milan are convinced of the qualities he could add to the team. As such, per the report, Moncada will soon initiate talks with the centre-back’s agent to discuss the feasibility of a move, also to understand Wolfsburg’s stance.

For next season, Milan will also be hoping to avoid the injury struggles they have experienced in defence this campaign, making life difficult for Stefano Pioli.
