Inter Milan president Steven Zhang feels confident about contract talks in general, while heaping praise on club icon Javier Zanetti.

The businessman has been over the moon in recent days following the club’s Serie A triumph. The Nerazzurri won the title and subsequently unlocked the second star with a historic 2-1 win over AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

But following this remarkable achievement, the hierarchy will turn their attention towards contract negotiations.

Inter are looking to secure the services of Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella and head coach Simone Inzaghi on long-term deals.

Nevertheless, Zhang is feeling optimistic, as he doesn’t expect major hurdles to ensue on this front.

“There shouldn’t be any problems with contract extensions,” said the club president during a chat with Chinese commentator Liu Teng on TikTok via FcInter1908.

“It won’t be an immediate thing but will require a certain process.”

On the other hand, the 32-year-old was less positive when asked about the club’s new stadium dilemma.

“In Italy, the stadium problem is a complicated one. So it risks being a long-term issue.”

Inter could either build their own venue in Rozzano or renovate the San Siro along with AC Milan.

On another note, Zhang promised to release a documentary on the glorious campaign. He also praised his players for their hardworking ethics.

“We will definitely make a documentary on the Serie A triumph. This could perhaps be in the form of videos and preserved recordings rather than in a narrative way.

“The players and I are of a relatively similar age. Many people in Italy considered me a child when I arrived at the age of 24.

“I think my players are the best and the most hardworking around. They go home after training, and pay attention to food and family.”

Finally, Zhang paid tribute to vice-president Javier Zanetti while revealing his passion for Argentina.

“Zanetti is a role model for everyone, he has a very professional attitude. He never drinks and is self-disciplined. Everyone at the club gets along well with each other.

“After Inter, my favorite is the Argentine national team.”
