Aston Villa manager Unai Emery admitted he was unhappy at being asked about a Premier League game this week.

The Spaniard felt that his team needed to focus on playing Lille in the Europa Conference League.

However, reporters were more interested in talking about their game against Arsenal in the league at the weekend.

"We have worked hard and been consistent to reach this stage but we know that more hard work lies ahead against a very difficult opponent," Emery's programme notes read.

"I always respect everyone's opinion, but I have to confess that honestly, it didn't make me happy to hear some of the questions I have received recently. Like if we are keeping an eye on Arsenal or if Sunday's match in the Premier League can condition tonight's match. No way.

"We are, as a club, in a European quarter-final after 26 years (26 years!). We should not give 100% - 200% of our attention is the minimum required."

He added: "I know one thing: the European cups are going to those that have the most desire to lift them.

"No one can want this Conference League more than us. We can win or draw or lose, but no one can give more effort than us."
