What to Know

J.T. Compher and Klim Kostin are back tonight after a week on injured reserve, which is good news for them. Not so much for Jonatan Berggren and Zach Aston-Reese, who were sent back to Grand Rapids. Berggren mde the most of his latest Detroit stint, scoring twice and adding an assist. Dylan Larkin could come off the injured list as soon as Monday, although that’s unlikely. …

Alex Lyon will be in net for the Red Wings, while Samuel Ersson starts for the Flyers. Ersson is 5-0-1 in his last six starts. The Flyers themselves are on a hot streak, having won their last four in a row. “I like their blue-collar game,” Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said on Friday. “They compete. I think their success has come the right way. They’re battling. We’re in similar spots in the standings. It’s a team we’re going to be battling throughout. My point to the group was you’re past the one-third mark of the season, it starts to get ramped up. You saw it last night, you’ll see it again tomorrow. It’s on us to rise to that challenge.” …

Patrick Kane haas played five games with the Red Wings, and it’s so far, so good: “I feel good physically, so I think especially for what I was brought in here to do, you gotta produce,” he said. “If you get those chances it’s great but you gotta be able to finish them. So hopefully the timing’s coming back a little bit and just when I get those chances, be ready to bear down and finish them. You don’t want to keep getting chances and passing them up. I know (of) a few unlucky breaks. We had a couple of posts and things like that. Hopefully they’ll start going in for us.”
