Rangers sign F Anton Blidh to two-year extension
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Rangers agreed to terms Thursday with forward Anton Blidh on a two-year contract extension.

Multiple outlets reported that it is a two-way deal with an average annual value of $775,000.

Blidh, 28, appeared in 14 games and did not score a point in his first season with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022-23.

He posted 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 70 games over parts of five seasons with the Boston Bruins, who drafted the Swedish winger in the sixth round in 2013.

Blidh signed as a free agent with the Avalanche in August 2022 and was traded to New York for forward Gustav Rydahl on March 3.

The Rangers assigned him to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, where he appeared in 17 games and tallied 11 points (seven goals, four assists). He added seven points (two goals, five assists) in nine playoff games as Hartford made its first run in the Calder Cup playoffs since 2015.
