Radim Zohorna Scratched from Penguins Lineup
USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Penguins are scratching Radim Zohorna from the lineup against the New York Islanders.

Zohorna has struggled quite a big his last few contests with the Penguins, and it might be hard for him to work his way back in.

In 29 games played this year, Zohorna has scored four goals and three assists for seven total points, but just one point in the last 16 outings.

Zohorna had seen his average ice time plummet over the course of those 16 games, and a late penalty in a crucial situation against the St. Louis Blues may have been the final straw.

Vinnie Hinostroza will make his way back into the lineup in Zohorna’s absnce and lace up on the fourth line.

Jansen Harkins was promoted a line and will skate on the third line in Zohorna’s spot.

29 games is a career high in a single season for Zohorna, but if the production isn’t following, head coach Mike Sullivan isn’t afraid to make these kind of lineup changes.

With Bryan Rust nearing a return to the lineup, Matt Nieto slowly getting healthier, and a decision still to be made on Jesse Puljujarvi, it won't be easy for Zohorna to work his way back to the Penguins' lineup.
