Player to watch vs. Sabres: Brandon Saad
USA TODAY Sports

My player to watch for the St. Louis Blues against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday is forward Brandon Saad.

It's no secret that well has run dry for the Blues forward. He hasn't scored since Nov. 4 against the Montreal Canadiens (11 games) but does have five assists.

However, Saad will play on a line with two extremely hard workers in Oskar Sundqvist and Kasperi Kapanen, and he does have success against the Sabres, averaging a point per game (18 points on six goals and 12 assists).

The Blues need more contributions from their middle six, and Saad is one of them. He has just nine points (three goals, six assists) in 21 game. I look for him to be a factor on the offensive side tonight.
