The two-way deal will run through the 2023.24 campaign and carries an average annual value of $775,000 at the NHL level.
Gruden made his NHL debut in the 2022-23 season and played a total of three games; no points were recorded but he averaged just 5:20 of ice time per game.
The contract is a two-way deal that last just a season and will earn Gruden $775,000 against the salary cap at the NHL level.
At the AHL level in 2022-23, Gruden played in 54 games and recorded 31 total points (16G-15A).
With every passing season, Gruden has improved and is nearing the chance to be a full time NHL player.
Gruden will likely start the season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but don’t be surprised to see him take more reps in the NHL.
