Penguins 'on to the next one' after Sidney Crosby's 500th career goal

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby made history during Tuesday's come-from-behind 5-4 overtime win vs. the rival Philadelphia Flyers when he netted his 500th career goal. Understandably, Crosby didn't attempt to hide his excitement while speaking with reporters shortly after becoming only the 46th NHL player to reach that milestone, per Wes Crosby of the league's website.

However, the future Hall of Famer was all business upon his return to work on Wednesday as he and his teammates prepare for Thursday's road game at the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Per Michelle Crechiolo of the club's website, forward Jeff Carter remarked that it was nice to "have some good laughs and whatnot" with Crosby after Tuesday's victory but added: "Sid came in today and I haven't heard a word about it. That's just the way he is. It's on to the next one. So we're ready to go."

Pittsburgh has been somewhat of a roller-coaster team as of late. It dropped four straight contests before the All-Star break but has since enjoyed a four-game winning streak that included three straight victories away from PPG Paints Arena. The 31-11-8 Penguins begin Wednesday's NHL action atop the Metropolitan Division standings and three points ahead of the second-place Carolina Hurricanes.
