Here's a list of notable events on March 8 in Chicago Blackhawks history.

1991: Dominik Hasek Logs First NHL Win

On March 8, 1991, Dominik Hasek recorded his first NHL win as the Blackhawks defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-3.

Chicago jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals by Wayne Presley, Steve Larmer, and Mike Peluso. Dale Hawerchuk got the Sabres on the board in the second period, but Jeremy Roenick responded with a pair of goals for the Blackhawks. Rob Ray and Dave Andreychuk scored in the third period, but it was too little, too late for the Sabres.

Hasek made 29 saves on 32 shots to enter the win column for the first time. Looking back, it was seemingly fate that the victory came against the team Hasek spent most of his Hall of Fame career with.

2022: Dylan Strome's Hat Trick Leads Blackhawks Rout of Anaheim

On March 8, 2022, Dylan Strome logged a hat trick and an assist as the Blackhawks crushed the Anaheim Ducks 8-3.

The Blackhawks stormed out of the gates with a five-goal first period as Stome, Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane, Ryan Carpenter, and Jonathan Toews all lit the lamp. Brandon Hagel made it a 6-0 game early in the second period before Anaheim scored the next three goals.

The only scoring of the third period featured Strome completing his hat trick to put the cherry on top of a commanding Blackhawks win.
