Matvei Michkov Makes KHL Debut
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Flyers forward prospect Matvei Michkov didn’t get on the scoresheet Wednesday but he at least got on the ice.

Michkov made his KHL regular-season debut for SKA St. Petersburg against Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. Michkov, one of the Philadelphia Flyers’ two first-round draft picks (seventh overall), only played 11 shifts and had 6 minutes, 12 seconds of ice-time.

Only one SKA forward had less ice-time than Michkov.

Michkov was a healthy scratch the first two games.

SKA lost, 4-3, to fall to 2-1 on the season.

SKA’s next game is Friday against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

Flyers goalie prospect Alexei Kolosov was the backup Wednesday in Dinamo Minsk’s 4-3 loss to Kunlun Red Star.

Ivan Fedotov’s CSKA Moscow team plays Thursday. Fedotov has played and been the backup goaltender in violation of IIHF sanctions.
