Lightning’s Anthony Cirelli, Tanner Jeannot will not play Saturday vs. Penguins

Cirelli left Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens after only playing 8:51 of ice time. The team officially announced Cirelli was day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

In 75 games this season, Cirelli has 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points. Now in his seventh NHL season, the 26-year-old has 96 goals and 135 assists for 231 points in 427 career games.

As for Jeannot, this is the second consecutive game he’s missed after leaving Wednesday’s contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an upper-body injury sustained in a fight with Ryan Reaves.

Through 50 games this season, Jeannot has six goals and seven assists for 13 points and 71 penalty minutes. In four NHL seasons with the Lightning and Nashville Predators, Jeannot has 41 goals and 38 assists for 79 points in 222 career games.

The Lightning are 43-26-7 with 93 points, fourth in the Atlantic Division and currently holding the No. 1 Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. They’re 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and could surpass the Maple Leafs for the No. 3 spot in the division by the end of the season.
