The NHL announced the finalists for the 2021 King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is presented “to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.” Last year’s winner was Matt Dumba of the Minnesota Wild.
Each team nominated one player for the award, and the finalists are Kurtis Gabriel of the San Jose Sharks, Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators and P.K. Subban of the New Jersey Devils.
The selection committee, led by Gary Bettman and Bill Daly, consider the following criteria:
