The Philadelphia Flyers have made some moves in their scouting department.

Dany Heatley was hired as a pro scout and Bob Murray joined the Philadelphia Flyers as a Senior Advisor. Mike Eastwood will replace Dave Brown as Director of Pro Scouting. Brown is listed on the Flyers’ organizational chart as a pro scout.

Eastwood was a scout for the Ducks the past two years. He played 738 games over 13 NHL seasons with the Maple Leafs, Jets, Coyotes, Rangers, Blues, Blackhawks and Penguins. He scored 236 career points.

These moves are further consolidation of the Flyers’ operations staff under president Keith Jones and general manager Daniel Briere.

Heatley won the Calder Trophy as top rookie with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2001-02. He scored 372 goals and 419 assists (791 points) in 869 games with the Thrashers, Sharks, Wild and Ducks. His hire was first reported by The Athletic in July.

Daniel Tremblay, a former Gatineau Olympiques scout, is joining the Flyers as a scout. Greg Chase, who worked with Briere with the Maine Mariners, was hired as a pro scout.

Bob Clarke, Paul Holmgren, Bill Barber and Dean Lombardi are Senior Advisors, along with Murray.
