Flyers’ Alexei Kolosov Gets Shutout in KHL Opener
TASS

While all the KHL talk recently has been about Matvei Michkov not playing and Ivan Fedotov playing, Alexei Kolosov pitched a shutout in his first start.

Kolosov made 26 saves as Dinamo Minsk defeated HC Vityaz, 7-0. Kolosov, the Philadelphia Flyers’ 2021 third-round draft pick (78th overall), is on a one-year loan to Dinamo Minsk.

Meanwhile, Fedotov has played one game but was the backup for two other CSKA Moscow games, in violation of IIHF sanctions.

Fedotov has a 5.04 goals-against average and a .868 save percentage. Fedotov was the Flyers’ seventh-round pick in 2015. He has been at the center of a contract controversy among the Flyers/NHL, KHL and IIHF.

Michkov, who was a healthy scratch in his first two games for SKA St. Petersburg, could make his season debut Wednesday. SKA plays the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo.
