Brennan Othmann and Mac Hollowell named 2024 All Stars
Frank Becerra Jr. / The Journal News / USA TODAY NETWORK

Hartford Wolf Pack forward Brennan Othmann and defenseman Mac Hollowell have both been named to the 2024 AHL All-Star game that will take place on February 4th in San Jose, the AHL announced on Wednesday. The duo will join the Atlantic division roster for the weekend after an impressive first half of the season and will be the first pair of Wolf Pack players named to an all-star game in the same year since the 2006-2007 season when Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi made the cut.

Othmann will head to San Jose after notching 23 points, nine goals, and 14 assists, in his first 28 games of his rookie season. Othmann was a first-round pick by the Rangers, going 16th overall in the 2021 rookie draft. Since then he spent two more seasons in the OHL with the Flint Firebirds and the Peterborough Petes before making his professional debut this season with the Wolf Pack.

Hollowell was named to the All-Star game after an impressive start to the season after tallying 26 points, one goal, and a remarkable 25 assists, in 28 games during his first season in Hartford as well. Hollowell has already doubled his point total from last season where he registered 13 points in 18 games with the Toronto Marlies. During the offseason, Hollowell inked a one-year deal to join Hartford where he has blossomed this season.

The Rangers have already recalled Othmann once this season where he spent three games with the club before being assigned back to Hartford. With the way Hollowell has performed this season, it would be no shock to anyone if the Rangers called his number sometime in the near future as well, especially after his All-Ttar selection. The two will have their chance to showcase their talents against the league’s best in San Jose with the hopes of representing the club well and potentially even getting a first, or second shot, back in the NHL.
