For the first time in his young career, Adam Gaudette is on the move.
The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Gaudette from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Matthew Highmore, the team announced Monday.
The forward has a cap hit of $950,000 and will become a restricted free agent after the 2020-21 season. He was selected by the Canucks in the fifth round of the 2015 draft out of Northeastern University.
Gaudette will likely have to quarantine when he arrives in Chicago.
The 24-year-old has four goals and three assists in 33 games this season and has notched 52 points in 153 career games.
Highmore, meanwhile, is under contract through the 2021-22 campaign with a cap hit of $750,000. The 25-year-old has two assists in 24 games this season and 10 points in 73 career games.
