Its time to spazz, Dazz!

During Newsome college career, he was nothing short of spectacular and reliable for the North Carolina Tar Heels. After 188 receptions, over 2400 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns, Newsome was taken in the sixth round. The 2021 NFL Draft gave Dazz an opportunity to continue his lightning fast route running in Chicago.  Despite his potential, Newsome was used very seldom catching only 2 passes for 23 yards during his rookie season.

The 2022 NFL season is, however, looking up for Dazz as Justin Fields is in need of a playmaker not named Darnell Mooney.  During the first preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Newsome caught his first pass for a 13 yard touchdown. Although it was from back up QB Trevor Siemian, it was very apparent the second year receiver got the best of his opponent in coverage. The Bears went on to win their pre-season opener, 19-14. It maybe pre-season but progress starts here. So far so good!

I don’t know about you but I love a good story. Dazz Newsome is a good story to keep an eye on, Bears fans.

Chicago face the Seattle Seahawks, Thursday, August 18th for Week 2.
