Vinatieri shares who should give his Hall of Fame induction speech
USA TODAY Sports

NFL legend and former Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri will be eligible for his first chance at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2025.

And the legend has a specific teammate in mind whom he would want to perform the speech at his likely induction.

Vinatieri and Pat McAfee were teammates on the Colts for the entirety of McAfee's NFL career, from the moment he was drafted with the 222nd pick in the 7th round of the 2009 NFL Draft to his retirement from the NFL after the 2016 season.

McAfee was the punter, while Vinatieri was the kicker, but McAfee was also the holder during those years. The two have been notoriously close throughout the years; McAfee even included Vinatieri in the video he used to share what was next for him post-retirement.

Many view Vinatieri as the best kicker ever to play the game. To this day, he has the NFL record for most career points with 2,673. This is 129 more points than the player with the 2nd most, Hall of Famer Morten Anderson, who has 2,544.

It's not a matter of if Vinatieri enters the Hall of Fame but when. And if McAfee truly is the person to give his induction speech, I think all Colts fans and NFL fans alike would be tuning in to see what he comes up with.
