As was widely expected contrary to rumors and stories, Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson remained with the organization through Tuesday's NFL trade deadline despite his offseason trade request and the fact he hasn't played for the club since the summer months.
Per Aaron Wilson of SportsTalk 790, Houston general manager Nick Caserio spoke on Wednesday about Watson's place with the franchise through at least the end of the season.

Watson continues to face 22 lawsuits alleging acts of sexual assault and misconduct and 10 criminal complaints, and it's assumed a team such as the Miami Dolphins wouldn't offer anything of note for him without knowing his availability moving forward. Caserio wouldn't comment on such speculation.

Houston is 1-7 but likely more so because of a lack of talent than because those inside the locker room are consumed by stories about Watson's status on a weekly basis.

Following Tuesday, Watson now cannot officially be traded before the new league year opens in March. One can only guess if his legal issues will be settled by next spring before the 2022 NFL Draft.
