Terrell Suggs to Join Ravens' Ring Of Honor

Baltimore Ravens legendary linebacker Terrell Suggs will be inducted into the Ring of Honor at halftime of their home game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Suggs is one of the greatest defensive players to ever play in the NFL, not just for the Ravens. He played in Baltimore for 16 seasons before spending the last year of his career with the Arizona Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs.

In his storied career, Suggs recorded 895 tackles, 139.0 sacks, 202 tackles for loss, 37 forced fumbles, 63 passes defended and seven interceptions. His 139 sacks officially ranks eighth in NFL history and 12th unofficially (statistics on sacks are not considered official prior to 1982).

His career was filled with awards and accolades as well. Suggs was a seven-time Pro Bowler, the 2003 Defensive Rookie of the Year, the 2011 Defensive Player of the Year, won two Super Bowls, and will soon be adding a gold Hall of Fame jacket to his closet.

In addition to his excellent regular season resumé, Suggs also showed out in the postseason and was an integral part of the 2012 Ravens team that won the Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers. He has tallied 80 tackles and 12.5 sacks in his playoff career. He won his second Super Bowl in 2019 with Kansas City, also over the 49ers, before retiring from the NFL. In his final NFL game, he recorded two tackles and a quarterback hit.

The ceremony for Suggs will take place at halftime of Baltimore's game against the Lions on Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium.
