Steelers Re-Sign DB Damontae Kazee
USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms on a new two-year deal with safety Damontae Kazee, The Score's Jordan Schultz reported.

Kazee and the Steelers reportedly had mutual interest in a return heading into free agency. He'll now spend the next two years in Pittsburgh, turning 30 years old by the start of the season.

Kazee signed with the Steelers late in the offseason, inking a one-year deal on the last day of the NFL Draft. He played nine games after returning from a fractured wrist that he suffered in the final preseason game, recording two interceptions, two pass deflections and 20 tackles in 2023.

The Steelers fell in love with their three-man safety set of Minkah Fitzpatrick, Kazee and Terrell Edmunds. The belief is that they'll attempt to bring back Edmunds as well and run the three-man set back in 2023.

If Edmunds does not return, Kazee will be the assumed starter heading into the summer.
