Anthony Miller

Miller, a former 2nd-round pick from the Bears, injured his shoulder during practice last week. The wideout joined the Steelers in October of 2021 and signed a one-year Reserve/Futures contract in January. He appeared in one game last season contributing one catch for two yards. Considered a bust by Bears fans, he played in 47 games over three seasons. He racked up 134 receptions for 1,564 yards and 11 touchdown catches.

Reports from camp said he did a good job taking advantage of opportunities with Johnson and Claypool sidelined. “You know, this is his first opportunity to be on the train when it leaves the station. Oftentimes we pick up guys and they get on a moving train during the course of the season and so forth,” Tomlin told reporters earlier this month. “It’s good he’s had the totality of the offseason, the learning process. I think being a component of the entire process is showing in a positive light for him.”

With the Miller injury, that leaves Gunner Olszewski, Miles Boykin, Cody White, Steven Sims, Tyler Snead, Tyler Vaughns and Christian Blake battling for the last two wideout spots. Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, George Pickens and Calvin Austin III should have the first four depth spots locked up.
