Steelers’ Kwon Alexander Issues Major Warning To Raiders Before Week 3
Kim Klement Neitzel-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders have gotten off to a 1-1 start this NFL season, most recently suffering a 38-10 loss at the hands of the Buffalo Bills last weekend.

While the Raiders have not looked too impressive and aren’t considered contenders by any means, there is one area in which they have excelled the first two weeks: pass protection.

Entering Week 3, Las Vegas is the only team in the NFL that has not allowed a sack.

However, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have racked up nine sacks over their first two games, will be coming to town on Sunday night, and Steelers linebacker Kwon Alexander is itching to see his club break into the Raiders backfield and end their streak.

“Yeah, well. We got two dogs on the end, so … We gonna see about that, for sure,” Alexander said when asked about Las Vegas’ superb offensive line play thus far, via Sean Deveney of Heavy. Alexander was referring to fellow linebackers TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith, who have combined for five of the team’s nine sacks thus far. Watt himself has accounted for four.

Alexander is in his first season with the Steelers and has logged 17 tackles through the first two games.

The 29-year-old entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2015 and appeared primed to become of the league’s fiercest defenders, racking up 145 tackles and three sacks as soon as his second season. He also made a Pro Bowl appearance in 2017. However, injuries derailed Alexander’s four-year tenure in Tampa Bay, and since then, he has bounced around between four teams.

Since departing the Buccaneers, Alexander has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and now the Steelers.

Pittsburgh is 1-1 and will look to end Las Vegas’ streak at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday evening.
