Seahawks RB Chris Carson out for 'Thursday Night Football'
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks will have to navigate through Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams without leading rusher Chris Carson.

Listed as questionable heading into this important divisional matchup with a neck injury, Seattle has ruled Carson out for the game.

This could end up being a pretty big blow for star quarterback Russell Wilson and Co.

Carson, 27, averaged 1,259 total yards and nine touchdowns over the past three seasons. Through the first four games of the 2021 campaign, he led the team in rush attempts (54), yards (234) and rushing touchdowns (three) while averaging a healthy 4.3 yards per attempt.

With Chris Carson out of action, Seattle will rely on Alex Collins to help provide balance against one of the better defenses in the NFL. Collins registered 46 yards on 10 attempts after Carson left last Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle finds itself at 2-2 and two games behind the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West. A loss here would be less-than-ideal for Pete Carroll and Co.
