Seahawks concerned RB Chris Carson won't play again this season?

The Seattle Seahawks activated running back Rashaad Penny ahead of this past Monday's loss to the New Orleans Saints that dropped them to 2-5 on the season as Chris Carson remained on injured reserve because of a neck issue.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, head coach Pete Carroll suggested Friday that Carson may not return to action this season.

"He’s got to make a turn here to show us that he’s feeling better and good enough to really go for it," Carroll explained. "He hasn’t been able to come out to practice yet and go. Pretty soon, you’re going to say, 'Is he going to make it back?' and I’m not ready to do that yet. But really keeping my fingers crossed for him that he gets to come back and play."

Carson hasn't taken the field since Oct. 3, and Carroll said the ball-carrier is "not ready to practice football yet." With star quarterback Russell Wilson set to miss at least Sunday's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars as he continues his recovery from surgery needed to repair an injury to the middle finger on his throwing hand, Carroll and company may soon decide shutting Carson down through the remainder of the campaign is what's best for everyone involved.
