Report: Texans RB David Johnson likely out against Browns

The Cleveland Browns expect to have first-choice running back Nick Chubb in the lineup for Sunday's home game against Houston, but it appears the Texans will be without their top ball-carrier this weekend. 

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, David Johnson did not practice on Wednesday after he suffered a concussion during last Sunday's 27-25 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. While interim coach Romeo Crennel hasn't officially ruled Johnson out, a source told Schefter the 28-year-old likely won't be able to go. 

Johnson leads the Texans with 408 rushing yards, 103 carries, and three rushing touchdowns. If he can't play, Duke Johnson will start for Houston and receive the bulk of his team's carries. 

The former Browns back tallied 41 rushing yards and a score on 16 carries in the victory over Jacksonville. Cleveland selected Duke Johnson in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft but traded him to Houston in August 2019. 

As for the Browns, Chubb has been sidelined by an MCL sprain that first made him a spectator during Cleveland's win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 4. He was on the practice field on Wednesday and looked like his old self:
