In last week's unofficial debut, Zay Flowers' impact appeared only in the team box score, drawing two Philadelphia penalties to keep a touchdown drive alive. On Monday, Flowers showed why the Ravens brought him in: of his 37 yards on a pair of receptions on the first possession of the game, 27 came after the catch. In what Baltimore hopes is the first of many, Flowers visited the end zone for the first time with a new bird on his helmet, capping off that first trek with a score from 26 yards away.

King of the Hill

Justice Hill once again earned primary rushing duties on Monday and broke loose for a pair of double-figure carries. Hill's burst of speeds was a stark contrast to Melvin Gordon, who failed to find an edge along the side and was brought down for a loss via hesitation on a short third down on one of his first carries. To his credit, Gordon buckled down for some solid gains later the in the half, showcasing a new higher carry to combat the fumble issues that ended his career in Denver.

It's not often that 37-year-old quarterbacks take the spotlight during preseason games but the well-traveled, long-tenured Josh Johnson is a rare exception. Attention will likely be diverted to the blooper that ended Baltimore's third possession ... a toss-up that could've garnered a fair catch which became an interception ... but he completed each of his first eight passes for 105 yards when granted the entirety of the opening half-hour. 

Perhaps most importantly, Johnson did some solid work on rollouts and scrambling, hinting that he could help keep the high-octane Baltimore offense if the medically unthinkable befalls Lamar Jackson again. Johnson showed hesitation on the next drive after the pick, immediately throwing downfield on his next two throws. A completion to Charlie Kolar set up his second score, the latter going to Tylan Wallace.
