Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews had by far his best game of the 2021 season on "Monday Night Football" against the Indianapolis Colts and perhaps the most impressive performance of his career given the circumstances.
Not only did the 2019 Pro Bowler roast the Colts defense for two touchdown receptions and a pair of two-point conversions as a part of his 11 receptions for a career-high 147 receiving yards, but Andrews did it in a monster comeback while playing with a heavy heart.
"My grandma passed this week and I wanted to play for her," Andrews said, via BaltimoreRavens.com staff writer Clifton Brown. "I was sad I wasn't able to be there for her but she means a lot to me. Growing up, she lived like a block away. I'd ride to her house and all of our family is praying for her. I was glad I was able to play for her. She's biggest Ravens fan ever. She looked up every article y'all have ever written. I know she's looking down on me watching and I'm extremely blessed to have had her in my life."
The Ravens trailed the Colts 22-3 in the second half, but backed by Andrews, Lamar Jackson (37-for-43, 442 passing yards, four touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 14 rushing attempts, 62 rushing yards) and Marquise Brown (nine receptions, 125 receiving yards, two touchdowns), Baltimore tied it at 25 to force overtime and eventually won it 31-25 after a Jackson-to-Brown touchdown pass on the first possession of the extra frame.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jackson's output was particularly historic.
