Ravens Retain ERFA Cornerback for 2024

The Baltimore Ravens have retained their only exclusive rights free agent just before the new league year starts at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Cornerback Ar'Darius Washington will play a fourth season in Baltimore next year.

The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec made the announcement on X on Wednesday, "This is housekeeping more than anything, but the Ravens are bringing back DB Ar'Darius Washington, their lone exclusive rights free agent. Washington played in 2 games and started one before sustaining a chest injury last year."

Washington has been a lower-roster guy the past couple of seasons but improved his play last training camp and would've seen significant playing time in the nickel package had he not suffered an injury in Week 2, missing the rest of the season.

Safety Geno Stone and corner Ronald Darby are both gone in free agency and the Ravens could still lose Arthur Maulet. Washington could see significant playing time in a number of positions in the secondary next season.

Washington could possibly thrive in new defensive coordinator Zach Orr's first season at the helm.

The former TCU Horned Frog registered just three tackles in three games over his first two seasons. But in two games (one start) last season before his injury, Washington tallied two passes defended, one sack, 11 total tackles with six solo, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits.
