The Rams announce Cam Akers is switching back to number 3, which Odell Beckham, Jr. wore after he signed with LA.

Akers wore No. 3 during his college days at Florida State, but has been No. 23 since being picked by the Rams as a second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. "OBJ" sported No. 3 for two of his three college seasons at LSU, before wearing No. 13 for the first seven-plus seasons of his NFL career with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.
Beckham Jr. switched to No. 3 when he signed with Los Angeles in November 2021.
The two offensive talents are at different stages in working their way back from serious lower-body injuries — Akers, a torn Achilles suffered in July 2021 and Beckham Jr., a torn ACL that occurred during Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals in February. After missing nearly all of the 2021 regular season, Akers returned for Week 17 and the Rams' entire run to the Super Bowl title.
Just over two months removed from his torn ACL, Beckham Jr. presumably faces a lengthy rehab in 2022.
