Patriots HC Bill Belichick suggests concerning offensive trend in recent games

The New England Patriots (5-4) have won their last two games and are over .500 for the first time this season. However, head coach Bill Belichick said Tuesday that he's recently noticed a concerning trend on offense.

The Patriots saw former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels leave in the offseason to become the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. New England hired former New York Giants head coach Joe Judge over the winter as an offensive assistant and brought back Matt Patricia under the new title of offensive line coach/senior advisor, both of whom were expected to compete for offensive play-calling duties.

More than halfway through the season, however, who (if anybody) holds that honor is basically a mystery.

Though the Patriots have picked up back-to-back wins over the Colts and Jets, it's been mostly due to the defense. The team hasn't reached 300 yards of offense since Week 6, and in the Week 9 win over Indianapolis, they totaled a season-low 203 yards.

New England will host the Jets in Week 10 at 1 p.m. ET on Nov. 20.
