Packers QB Jordan Love has the right attitude about moving forward as starter

It would be easy to get carried away. 

Jordan Love, who replaced four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers this offseason for the Green Bay freaking Packers, went into Chicago and stomped on the organization's biggest rival. He threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns while protecting the ball against the Bears, helping the Packers win the turnover battle, 2-to-0.

Love has since gotten his roses from much of the national media and he's certainly won over some skeptical fans in Green Bay, but through it all, he's apparently maintained a grounded attitude as well as a strong perspective.

It's just one game. It was a great win, for sure, but one game a season (or a career) doesn't make.

"It's definitely just a building block," Love said via Mike Spofford of the team website. "It's just the start of the season. It's a long season, a lot of games to be played.

"You never every try and get complacent out there."

The jury is still out whether or not Love will be successful in being Rodgers' successor, but he's certainly handled every step of the process great so far. He went about his work backing up the future Hall of Famer for three years and never complained about being a first-round pick riding the bench. Love undoubtedly has earned the respect and admiration of his teammates in the locker room and he clearly won over the front office – which traded away Rodgers in favor of Love's relatively still unknown abilities.

Week 1 was great for Green Bay, but now Love and the Packers will have to go out again and prove against the 1-0 Atlanta Falcons that it wasn't just a fluke or a flash in the pan.

Success in the NFL is found week-by-week and day-by-day. "The mindset we had going into the week is that we were going to win that game," Love said of Week 1 against Chicago. "I don't think anyone's over-excited about it.

"We went there and handled business, and that's what we planned on doing, so now we're just focused on this week and doing the same thing."
