Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly had 'previously bad surgery' corrected with latest operation

Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee back in October 2020 while with the Cleveland Browns and ultimately had surgery to correct the issue. Beckham didn't return to meaningful action until late September of last year, and he and the Browns later parted ways in November before he found new life for his career with the Los Angeles Rams. 

However, the three-time Pro Bowl selection tore the same ACL during the Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals this past February, and many have assumed the recovery timeline would mean the 29-year-old will miss most, if not all, of the 2022 campaign. 

It appears that's not necessarily the case. 

According to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire (h/t Yahoo Sports), NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported during Wednesday's edition of "The Pat McAfee Show" that the Rams’ team doctor performed Beckham's latest operation and that there is still "mutual interest" between the parties about a future reunion. 

"Their team doctor did the surgery. Sounds like it went really well and actually corrected a previously bad surgery from a couple years ago," Rapoport explained. 

Rapoport added the procedure Beckham underwent in 2020 left his knee less than "100% healthy" up through last fall and the postseason tournament.
