Aidan Hutchinson is having himself a day against the Washington Commanders. Playing in just his second career NFL game, the Detroit Lions rookie defensive end recorded his first three sacks all in the first half.

The first occurred on the Lions’ first defensive series. Hutchinson warded off two Commanders’ offensive linemen while not giving up on the play to bring down quarterback Carson Wentz on third down.

In the second quarter, Hutchinson wrapped around Commanders right tackle Sam Cosmi. Wentz tried sliding in the pocket as he looked downfield, but Hutchinson closed the gap for his second sack.

Hutchinson collected sack No. 3 on a stunt that allowed him to hit Wentz up the middle. Wentz eyes went to his first read before Hutchinson was in his face.

Hutchinson had a good game in his NFL debut. But he didn’t record a sack. There is no question about his output this week. The former Michigan product won’t forget this performance.
