NFL world shows support for Bills' Tyler Bass after missed field goal
Jamie Germano/Rochester Democrat and Chronicle / USA TODAY NETWORK

Bills Mafia and Kansas City Chiefs fans proved this past weekend that football is so much more than a game.

And others can learn a lot from their latest gesture.

In the Chief's win over the Bills on Sunday, it was a devastating loss for Buffalo after kicker Tyler Bass missed the game-tying kick with under two minutes remaining in the game. Josh Allen and Sean McDermott both showed their support for Bass, but the kicker didn't want to deal with any of the other outside noise.

He deleted all his social media accounts.

However, what the fans did afterwards is something that should certainly be celebrated.

According to Front Office Sports, both Bills and Chiefs fans donated more than $100,000 to Bass' charity, which is called the Ten Lives Club that works to find homes for local cats.

This is a true showing of sportsmanship from both sides and proves that football is more than just a game.

Of course fans want their team to win. That's not secret. But to be able to come together like this after either a win or loss and support a player who has received a lot of hate in the past few days since the game is heartwarming.

A lot of fans are donating $22, which is in honor of the kicker who wears the number two.

One anonymous Chiefs fan wrote, "From a Chiefs fan. You do not deserve the hate. Come to KC and be part of our kicking team. We will treat you with respect."
