Miami GP Director and Miami Dolphins CEO defends '$280 lobster rolls' at the F1 race

Additionally, the CEO mentioned that the price of $280 price was for Lobster Rolls and for more people than just one. The portions would be enough for even ten people, hence the large price. However, the prices of Formula 1 tickets and everything else are indeed highly priced and not always for the common people. Hence, the sport might have to reconsider their set prices of such commodities during a race if the ticket is already expensive.

It was a lobster roll, for probably 10 people, for $280. Tom Garfinkel noted.

There were expensive items at the event, however, Tom Garfinkel revealed that there were inexpensive items available too. Additionally, there were highly priced items due to them being prepared by world-renowned chefs. For example, Mario Carbone was present preparing Vodka Rigatoni which obviously cost a lot of money.

So, there are options that are less expensive, and there's a lot of them all over the campus. And then there's some options that are more expensive, and then there's some options that are really expensive because [renowned New York celebrity chef] Mario Carbone is there making your vodka rigatoni, and it's going to cost a lot of money. Tom Garfinkel mentioned.

According to the Miami Dolphins CEO, the event tried presenting the attendees with a wide spectrum of options. However, Garfinkel reckoned that people tried to point out the negatives as well, such as displaying the high price without any context. The Lobster Rolls at $280 that could feed almost a dozen people were correctly priced.

We're just trying to provide options across that spectrum and sometimes people are going to point one thing out and say 'that's really expensive' without providing the context that it's actually a lobster roll for a suite for 10 people, right? So, there are inexpensive options as well as that, which is important to us. Tom Garfinkel concluded.

The American weekends are usually highly-priced as compared to any other events due to the high amount of attendance. Additionally, these weekends provide the most amounts of financial benefits to Formula 1. Hence, the sport needs to continue racing in America and keep such highly priced items available as well.
