LeSean McCoy Blasts James Bradberry for Poor Tackling vs. Bucs
USA Today

Monday evening's 32-9 postseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was filled with embarrassing moments for the Philadelphia Eagles

Perhaps the lowest of the low came late in the third quarter, when Buccaneers receiver Trey Palmer caught a pass from quarterback Baker Mayfield, shook off a would-be tackle from cornerback James Bradberry and then split three more defenders to score a 56-yard touchdown.

On one hand, it was indicative of the incredible speed that Palmer, a 22-year-old rookie, possesses. On the other hand, it was the most glaring example of the Eagles being unable to wrap up tackles Monday, and for the better part of the last month of the season.

The play of Bradberry, specifically, enraged LeSean McCoy, the greatest running back in team history. McCoy -- now a media personality for FOX -- didn't mince words in criticizing the performance of Bradberry on social media Monday night.

"We are the worst tackling team in all college n pro… 24 don’t want to tackle at allll," McCoy tweeted.

He then shared a viral video of a kid failing to make a tackle in a youth football game and compared the lack of effort to Bradberry.

Take a look:

The deciding penalty of Super Bowl LVII notwithstanding, Bradberry was pretty solid for the Eagles in 2022. But it proved to be a mistake bringing him back on a three-year, $38 million deal this past offseason, a pact that guaranteed him $20 million. There's not an out in Bradberry's contract until after the 2024 season, but he struggled so much in his age-30 season that the Eagles may have no choice but to release him and take a $17.238 million dead cap charge next campaign.

Given that the Eagles finished the 2023 season by losing six of their final seven games, there figure to be wholesale changes this offseason. Bradberry will be part of that, but general manager Howie Roseman is likely looking at having to rebuild a bulk of the secondary this offseason, among other areas of the roster. He may also be looking for a new coach, but that's another discussion.
