Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jack Jones is taking being a Raider to a whole new level
USA TODAY Sports

Last season, one of Antonio Pierce's first moves as interim head coach was to take a gamble. It was a small one, but it eventually paid off big time.

The Raiders grabbed cornerback Jack Jones from the waiver wire, and if he didn't play the way Pierce thought he could, then no big deal; he wasn't being paid much at all. If he did play the way Pierce thought, they would have a Pro Bowl-caliber cornerback.

I guess it's safe to say it worked out. Jones is still getting better, and he is already a really good player that the Raiders will use to build their secondary around. And, better yet - he's a Raider. He fits the Raider way of old.

All you need to do is turn two games on to see that he represents the Silver and Black in the right way. Turn the tape on from the second matchup against both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. And, yes, he had a pick-six in both games, but that's not what I'm referring to, although that is great.

He had a look in his eye against both teams, specifically Patrick Mahomes, that showed that he was supposed to be on this team. He hated both of those teams from the moment he stepped foot in the stadium.

He is continuing that Raider way but taking it to another level. During voluntary workouts, he wore a Raiders shirt that read "Ill intent. Physicality. Pain."

That's what being a Raider is about, and to see it on a shirt with a cool design like that is dope. He knows what he was sent to do, and he's doing it the right way too.
