On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs made a few key roster moves ahead of their matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs needed to make several decisions for their team due to injuries the team is facing.
The Chiefs ruled out three-time All-Pro Joe Thuney on Friday following the team’s final practice of the week. The Chiefs were unsure of the status of running back Jerick McKinnon on Friday. The Chiefs decided to activate McKinnon for the Super Bowl. However, the Chiefs are uncertain if he will be active for the game.
The Chiefs needed to open up a roster spot for McKinnon in case he is able to play Sunday. Per a statement by the Chiefs, the team placed Thuney on injured reserve . The Chiefs also activated nose tackle Mike Pennel for the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs will be down two offensive linemen for the game. They ruled out Prince Tega Wanogho on Friday evening.
