Jason Peters talks 'nasty' Eagles fans and what Cowboys should expect Sunday

New Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Jason Peters spent 11 years as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and knows firsthand just how intense the rivalry -- and Eagles fans -- can be.

Now he is on the other side of that rivalry Sunday night when his Cowboys go into Lincoln Financial Field for an NFC East first-place showdown.

And he knows exactly what his teammates should be expecting.

Nastiness.

Lots and lots of nastiness.

“I just know the Philly fans are [expletive] idiots when it comes to camaraderie and the Cowboys — any team, really,” Said Peters on Wednesday, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

“They start throwing stuff at teams. Like, when we played the Vikings [in early 2017], they were throwing stuff. I mean, they nasty. . . . But they know that. They pride themselves on being nasty, you know, vulgar. They’re going to cuss at you. They’re going to throw stuff. “They pride themselves on that. They know that. Philly fans are the wildest fans out there, to me.”

Despite the nastiness and knowing what is coming for him and the Cowboys on Sunday night, Peters still has fond memories of his time in Philadelphia saying that it still means a lot to him and "that's my city."

The reputation of Philadelphia sports fans is legendary and infamous at the same time, and involves everything from snowballs and Santa Claus (the real story behind that is actually hilarious) to batteries to a jail cell at old Veterans Stadium.

The Eagles are the NFL's only unbeaten team going into Sunday night and have a chance to take a significant lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East race with a win.

It is all part of a massive week in Philadelphia sports, making it the center of the sports universe for the time being
