Jaguars vs. Chiefs: Luke Fortner, Brandon Scherff Miss Wednesday's Practice
USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars' injury report is growing.

The Jaguars had just two players on the injury report for last week's practices, but a few notable names have been added since Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Safety Antonio Johnson (hamstring), guard Brandon Scherff (ankle), cornerback Gregory Junior (hamstring), and center Luke Fortner (ankle) were all listed as non-participants for Wednesday's practice. Defensive lineman Tyler Lacy was limited with a hip injury.

“Well, Antonio is still a way from being back out on the field. He’s rehabbing extremely well; he’s running and doing the straight-line stuff. He hasn’t done much of the football stuff yet, so he’s in a good place," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said today.

"Brandon is day-to-day, we’ll see where he’s at. We got the walkthrough coming up in practice but chances are he doesn’t go today, we’ll just rest him there. Luke [Fortner] is another one that’s day-to-day, but he’s a probably a little further ahead than Brandon is right now. But I’m optimistic that he can maybe get some work in today.”

With the Jaguars having their starting center and right guard both banged up as they prepare to face off against the Kansas City Chiefs and Chris Jones, the state of the interior offensive line will be a unit to watch.

"He’s a great player. He has a big impact on the pass game, he can push the pocket, he can line up at defensive end which you would anticipate him doing that," Pederson said on Wednesday about Jones. "You got to know where he’s going to be on the defensive line and it’s always a challenge. He’s a load in there and you got to make sure you have not just two, but maybe four hands on him to try to stop his momentum.”
